Why is that they completely understand, "sit still for a minute you're in a time out, you shouldn't have done_____" well okay I only know for sure that they understand the sit still part.
And "OK you can get up now" man they jump up so fast you can feel a breeze. BUT they won't listen to the original "do not hit Mommy, or you're going to get a time out." It's going to be a fun year....

- Mom of twins born 7 weeks premature on 8/21/06. Long story but happy to share it. I work full time as an engineer while my husband stays at home. I am also trying to take off as a Creative Memories consultant. To make more money and to help pay for my hobby that I absolutely LOVE!!! Scrapbooking is so much cheaper than therapy. :-) I'm sometimes jealous but when I'm home for a long weeeknd the boys become so attached to me it's nice. At least they still know who mommy is.

It might be because they can't tell time, how long is a minute to a 2-year old? And maybe hitting mommy is WORTH a time-out, if it gets an exciting reaction!
Think like a kid.
And don't believe what they say about the two's being terrible, there's lots of good stuff there too.
